TOM HANKS
Doğum: 9 Temmuz 1956 Concord, Californiya.
Tam Adı: Thomas J. Hanks
Aile Durumu: Samantha Lewes'den ayrıldı. Bu evlilikten bir kızı, bir oğlu vardı. 1988'de Volunteers filminin setinde tanıştığı Rita Wilson ile evlendi. Bu evlilikten ise iki oğlu oldu.
Eğitim: Tom 6 gramer okuluna gitti. Skyline Lisesinden mezun olduktan sonra Chabot Universitesine ordan da Californiya State universitesine geçti.
İlk rolü : 1977 Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival'inde The Taming of the Shrew adlı oyunda oynadı.
TV Şöhreti : Bosom Buddies. Ayrıca Happy Days, Love Boat, Taxi ve Family Ties dizilerinde de rol aldı.
Çıkışı: Splash adlı ikinci filmi ile.
Yönetmenlik: "Tales From the Crypt" ve "That Thing You Do" (senaryoyu da yazdı.) From the Earth to the Moon (yine yazar.)
Ödüller: Altın Küre'den Oscar'a kadar çok çeşitli ödüller kazandı. 50 yıl aradan sonra Philadelphia ve Forrest Gump filmleriyle arka arkaya Oscar kazanan ilk oyuncu oldu. (Diğeri Spencer Tracy idi.)
Sırada ne var?: Tom bu sezon Toy Story 2 ve "The Green Mile" filmleriyle boy gösterecek. Daha sonra ise Martin Scorsese'nin yöneteceği Dino adlı filmde Dean Martin'i oynamayı düşünüyor.
Sağlık sorunları: Geçen yaz bacağında ciddi bir enfeksiyon oluşmuştu. Ayrıca geçtiğimiz günlerde çekimler için gezerken çürük bir zeminde düşmesi sonucu omzu çıktı.
